Bits of advice for anyone thinking of having a home cinema in a basement, make sure all walls, floor and the ceiling are sound proofed!!! On an installation last year the clients tried to cut corners and save on sound proofing, we tried to give them some advice, now it is something they regret as while in the kitchen the floor shakes from the sound of the cinema below!!!!!
While constructing your cinema make sure you have a wiring plan so if there are any issues later on, you know exactly where all wires and cables are. This is also very important if you sell your home in the future.
